Climate Change Proven a Hoax – Leaked emails say ‘Doctor the Data’

News out the United Kingdom today has proven, beyond any shadow of a doubt, that Climate Change and Global Warming is a fraud, a sham, and nothing but a criminal enterprise.

Russian hackers broke into the servers of the Climatic Research Unit (CRU), one of the worlds leading research enterprises for the UN, with respect to the climate change myth. At time of writing their site is down, using a back-up server instead.

The hackers have posted the contents of damaging emails, complete with names. If you read the emails you will see that they are telling colleagues the world over to fudge the data so that it promotes their agenda. This is a crime against humanity and these people have caused mass hysteria planet wide in order to enslave us with a carbon tax.

Here are links to 33 of the most damning emails:

Bishop Hill’s compendium of CRU email issues

22 11 2009 For those of you who don’t know of the blog Bishop Hill, let me say that he is a succinct and careful writer who has earned praise from many (including myself and Steve McIntyre) in taking a difficult niche subject such as the Hockey Stick and paleoclimatology and condensed into into a readable form for the layman. He’s also writing a book about it called: The Hockey Stick Illusion

In his latest post, Climate Cuttings 33, he gives a list of interesting issues he’s identified. I’ve reproduced it below for WUWT readers to consider. Be sure to visit his blog and have a look and drop an encouraging word. – Anthony

General reaction seems to be that the CRUgate emails are genuine, but with the caveat that there could be some less reliable stuff slipped in.

In the circumstances, here are some summaries of the CRUgate files. I’ll update these as and when I can. The refs are the email number.

  • Jones says he and Kevin will keep some papers out of the next IPCC report.(1089318616)
  • Tom Wigley tells Mann that a figure Schmidt put together to refute Monckton is deceptive and that the match it shows of instrumental to model predictions is a fluke. Says there have been a number of dishonest presentations of model output by authors and IPCC.(1255553034)
  • Grant Foster putting together a critical comment on a sceptic paper. Asks for help for names of possible reviewers. Jones replies with a list of people, telling Foster they know what to say about the paper and the comment without any prompting.(1249503274)
  • David Parker discussing the possibility of changing the reference period for global temperature index. Thinks this shouldn’t be done because it confuses people and because it will make things look less warm.(1105019698)
  • Briffa discusses an sceptic article review with Ed Cook. Says that confidentially he needs to put together a case to reject it (1054756929)
  • Ben Santer, referring to McIntyre says he hopes Mr “I’m not entirely there in the head” will not be at the AGU.(1233249393)
  • Jones tells Mann that he is sending station data. Says that if McIntyre requests it under FoI he will delete it rather than hand it over. Says he will hide behind data protection laws. Says Rutherford screwed up big time by creating an FTP directory for Osborn. Says Wigley worried he will have to release his model code. Also discuss AR4 draft. Mann says paleoclimate chapter will be contentious but that the author team has the right personalities to deal with sceptics.(1107454306)

Mike,
In an odd way this is cheering news ! One other thing about the CC paper – just found
another email – is that McKittrick says it is standard practice in Econometrics journals
to give all the data and codes !! According to legal advice IPR overrides this.

Dear Ray, Mike and Malcolm,
Once Tim’s got a diagram here we’ll send that either later today or
first thing tomorrow.
I’ve just completed Mike’s Nature trick of adding in the real temps
to each series for the last 20 years (ie from 1981 onwards) amd from
1961 for Keith’s to hide the decline
. Mike’s series got the annual
land and marine values while the other two got April-Sept for NH land
N of 20N. The latter two are real for 1999, while the estimate for 1999
for NH combined is +0.44C wrt 61-90. The Global estimate for 1999 with
data through Oct is +0.35C cf. 0.57 for 1998.
Thanks for the comments, Ray.

Hi all – I’m not too comfortable with this, and would rather not sign – at least not
without some real time to think it through and debate the issue. It is unprecedented and
political, and that worries me.

My vote would be that we don’t do this without a careful discussion first.

I think it would be more appropriate for the AGU or some other scientific org to do this -
e.g., in reaffirmation of the AGU statement (or whatever it’s called) on global climate
change.

Think about the next step – someone sends another letter to the Senators, then we respond,
then…

I’m not sure we want to go down this path. It would be much better for the AGU etc to do
it.

What are the precedents and outcomes of similar actions? I can imagine a special-interest
org or group doing this like all sorts of other political actions, but is it something for
scientists to do as individuals?

Just seems strange, and for that reason I’d advise against doing anything with out real
thought, and certainly a strong majority of co-authors in support.

Cheers, Peck

Dear fellow Eos co-authors,
Given the continued assault on the science of climate change by some on Capitol Hill,
Michael and I thought it would be worthwhile to send this letter to various members of
the U.S. Senate, accompanied by a copy of our Eos article.
Can we ask you to consider signing on with Michael and me (providing your preferred
title and affiliation). We would like to get this out ASAP.
Thanks in advance,
Michael M and Michael O

At first the CRU said that the emails were a hoax, but they now admit that they were hacked, saying that a lot of their documents have been stolen:

The director of Britain’s leading Climate Research Unit, Phil Jones, has told Investigate magazine’s TGIF Edition tonight that his organization has been hacked, and the data flying all over the internet appears to be genuine.

In an exclusive interview, Jones told TGIF, “It was a hacker. We were aware of this about three or four days ago that someone had hacked into our system and taken and copied loads of data files and emails.”

“Have you alerted police”

“Not yet. We were not aware of what had been taken.”

Jones says he was first tipped off to the security breach by colleagues at the website RealClimate.

“Real Climate were given information, but took it down off their site and told me they would send it across to me. They didn’t do that. I only found out it had been released five minutes ago.”

TGIF asked Jones about the controversial email discussing “hiding the decline”, and Jones explained what he was trying to say….

From the Briefing Room

The Day The Science Died…:

As the fallout from CRUHACK grows, the biggest story is not actually whether data was manipulated in individual cases, although in my view that’s bad. And it’s not that global warming scientists were so arrogant in 2004 as to mock the death of an opponent, although that too is bad.

It’s not that some of these scientists were sitting on taxpayer-sourced slush funds worth tens of millions of dollars each, for an industry total of somewhere close to US$100 billion, whilst their supporters raised merry-hell about Exxon sponsoring skeptic research to the tune of a few million, although this too is massively hypocritical.

It’s not that the scientists show signs of being political activists, and even helping promote a global governance agenda.

No, in my view the biggest scandal to erupt from CRUHACK is the death of peer-reviewed climate science.

We now all know – the entire industrialized world – that while global warming scientists and their supporters were publicly ridiculing skeptic’s arguments as “not peer reviewed” because – by implication – the arguments were not good enough, that in fact some of the top scientific advisors to the UN IPCC were conspiring (and that is the right word) to sabotage any attempt by other scientists to publish peer reviewed papers challenging global warming.

We now know the UN IPPC/Global Governance lobby had sufficient political clout to intimidate scientific journals into submission and to run roughshod over the integrity of the peer review process.

The next global warming believer who raises “peer review” as a defence of global warming deserves to be metaphorically tarred and feathered and laughed at for the rest of his or her natural life.

The Wegman report to the US Congress found unhealthy links between the IPCC’s scientific advisors. The CRUHACK emails now prove that festering scientific corruption beyond reasonable doubt.

The integrity of climate science died this weekend. It will never be the same.

Given that these are the men and women who’ve been telling the world’s political leaders “trust us”, as they shore up plans to introduce massive global taxes, this should give every President and Prime Minister cause for concern.

Do you really want to stake your country’s economic future on the advice of scientists shown to have an agenda, and to have corrupted the only process capable of whistleblowing bad science? How are we to know from now on whether any of the papers these scientists have been associated with is genuine, and not just rubber stamped by their mates to suit a common goal?
Now to some of the highlights. (By the way, if you want to search the emails yourself, enter the file names or keywords into this search engine)

MANIPULATION OF DATA

The emails disclose the IPCC chose, for political rather than scientific reasons, to keep using a 1961-1990 baseline for atmospheric temperature measurements. We’ve all been told ad nauseum that 30 years is “a climate trend”. So by 2007’s AR4 report you’d have to ask why they weren’t choosing a 1976-2005 baseline? The answer is this:

Neil

There is a preference in the atmospheric observations chapter of IPCC AR4 to stay with the 1961-1990 normals. This is partly because a change of normals confuses users, e.g. anomalies will seem less positive than before if we change to newer normals, so the impression of global warming will be muted. SOURCE: 1105019698.txt

There you go. Proof you’ve been played for suckers. More modern data would have disclosed less warming in recent times, because 1961-1990 coincided with a cold cycle and that ancient baseline makes modern warming look tropical by comparison, hence it is perfect to overinflate the significance of the warming for political purposes.

Now let’s look at whether we should ever consider anything less than a 30 year climate trend. Hot Topic contributor, geologist P Scadden, suggests never:

scaddenp November 3, 2009 at 11:41 am

Boy, am I sick of reiterating this. CLIMATE is about a 30 year trend. The models predict what happens on a 30 year trend.

But here’s what a man at the climate coalface, CRU director Phil Jones says in his email about the must-be-adhered-to 30 year trend, as he made the case for picking a 20 year dataset instead:

20 years (1981-2000) isn’t 30 years, but the rationale for 30 years isn’t that compelling. The original argument was for 35 years around 1900 because Bruckner found 35 cycles in some west Russian
lakes (hence periods like 1881-1915). This went to 30 as it easier to compute.

Personally I don’t want to change the base period till after I retire!

Cheers
Phil

Extraordinary! All this time the global warming believers have been stridently insisting that only a 30 year measurement is valid, and then the leaked emails disclose they plucked that figure out of the air, so to speak, and the logic behind it “isn’t that compelling”.

Feeling like a sucker yet?

And if a ten year trend is nothing, officially, then why was UA-based ex-pat Kiwi scientist Kevin Trenberth having this heated debate in early October this year about the fact that temperature increases have hit a brick wall and stopped, in defiance of UN Policy and Greenpeace pronouncements about imminent catastrophe:

Where the heck is global warming? We are asking that here in Boulder where we have broken records the past two days for the coldest days on record. We had 4 inches of snow. The high the last 2 days was below 30F and the normal is 69F, and it smashed the previous records for these days by 10F. The low was about 18F and also a record low, well below the previous record low. This is January [winter] weather [in early autumn] (see the Rockies baseball playoff game was canceled on saturday and then played last night in below freezing weather).

The fact is that we can’t account for the lack of warming at the moment and it is a travesty that we can’t. The CERES data published in the August BAMS 09 supplement on 2008 shows there should be even more warming: but the data are surely wrong. Our observing system is inadequate. SOURCE 1255352257.txt

For that matter, this inconvenient truth remained suppressed at the heavily staged media climate briefing I was locked out of recently.

Surely, Trenberth’s colleagues must have reassured him “it’s just weather, not climate”, and “short term data is irrelevant, it’s the 30 year trend that’s important”.

Mick Kelly, another climate scientist with Kiwi connections, was so concerned recently about the fact that the global temperature has stopped rising that he told his colleagues he was erasing that inconvenient truth from his powerpoint presentations so the public would not find out:

From: Mick Kelly <mick.tiempo@xxxxxxxxx.xxx>
To: <P.Jones@xxxxxxxxx.xxx>
Subject: RE: Global temperature
Date: Sun, 26 Oct 2008 09:02:00 +1300

Yeah, it wasn’t so much 1998 and all that that I was concerned about, used
to dealing with that, but the possibility that we might be going through a
longer – 10 year – period of relatively stable temperatures beyond what you
might expect from La Nina etc
.

Speculation, but if I see this as a possibility then others might also.
Anyway, I’ll maybe cut the last few points off the filtered curve before I
give the talk again
as that’s trending down as a result of the end effects
and the recent cold-ish years.

Enjoy Iceland and pass on my best wishes to Astrid.

Mick SOURCE 1225026120.txt

And I ask the Presidents and Prime Ministers again: how do you know the climate “scientists” briefing you are not fudging the data to hide inconvenient truths from you?

Little wonder they’re panicking. One of Europe’s top climate scientists has run the numbers and found no global warming in ten years, once natural variations had been accounted for. Yep – 0.0C change in temperatures. As Kevin Trenberth famously said, “Where the heck is global warming?”

But that’s OK, because we know the UN climate scientists are peer reviewed.

In my new book Air Con: The Seriously Inconvenient Truth About Global Warming, I quoted the case of one climate scientist who was told in an email “we must get rid of the Medieval Warm Period”, in reference to the data that shows it was much warmer a thousand years ago than it is now.

The leaked emails now confirm the author of that instruction was Jonathan Overpeck, and it seemed to be a continuing theme – erase inconvenient data so as not to “confuse” the public.

Michael Mann, of “hockey stick” fabrication fame, wrote this email:

Phil and I have recently submitted a paper using about a dozen NH records that fit this category, and many of which are available nearly 2K back–I think that trying to adopt a timeframe of 2K, rather than the usual 1K, addresses a good earlier point that Peck made w/ regard to the memo, that it would be nice to try to “contain” the putative “MWP”, even if we don’t yet have a hemispheric mean reconstruction available that far back….

So even though they had no scientific basis to get rid of it, they got rid of it.

The next spotty-faced, Greenpeace-indoctrinated callow little leftie youth I encounter in a blog exchange who uses the word “cherry-picking” in relation to skeptic arguments will also be laughed at long and loud.

PEER REVIEW IS A JOKE

Rather than me re-inventing the wheel, check out Andrew Bolt’s nice synopsis of the corrupting of peer review, then read on here.

This email from Phil Jones to Michael Mann is illuminating, because it appears to suggest among other things that Mann might have been in a position to review studies dealing with his own work (he produced the MBH paper Jones refers to. It also shows Jones is peer reviewing a paper criticizing the data produced by Jones’ CRU unit. If that’s not incestuous, I don’t know what is:

Mike,

Just agreed to review a paper for GRL – it is absolute rubbish. It is having a go at the CRU temperature data – not the latest vesion, but the one you used in MBH98 !! We added lots of data in for the region this person says has Urban Warming ! So easy review to do.

Sent Ben the Soon et al. paper and he wonders who reviews these sorts of things. Says GRL hasn’t a clue with editors or reviewers. By chance they seem to have got the right person with the one just received.

Can I ask you something in CONFIDENCE – don’t email around, especially not to Keith and Tim here. Have you reviewed any papers recently for Science that say that MBH98 and MJ03 have underestimated variability in the millennial record – from models or from some low-freq proxy data. Just a yes or no will do. Tim is reviewing them – I want to make sure he takes my comments on board, but he wants to be squeaky clean with discussing them with others. So forget this email when you reply.

Cheers

Phil

Again, in my opinion both Mann and Jones have clear conflicts of interest, yet they are effectively peer reviewing their own work and attacking other scientists in the process. What a joke.

The global warming brigade can try and spin it as much as they like, but even their colleagues aren’t buying anymore, as this comment posted on Mann’s website RealClimate by another scientist shows:

Darrell (15:18:21) : From the same Real Climate thread:

I see a problem when it comes to suggesting that the “skeptics” need to publish in the peer-reviewed literature (which is something that I continually push as well), all the while working to try to prevent them publishing in the literature. I can pretty much guarantee that several recent papers that I (and co-authors) have submitted to the peer-reviewed literature would have been accepted had they carried different authorship. And I would bet that this is not only limited to my co-authors. I grow more suspicious that submitted papers that include particular authors are red-flagged for ’special treatment.’ For a long time I denied (to myself and others) that this was the case, but recent experience has me thinking differently. I hope that I am wrong. Today’s information has done little to reassure me

The Wall Street Journal found an email in the haul from another scientist worried about the corruption of science by influencing the peer review process:

One email from 1999, titled “CENSORED!!!!!” showed one U.S.-based scientist uncomfortable with such tactics. “As for thinking that it is ‘Better that nothing appear, than something unacceptable to us’ … as though we are the gatekeepers of all that is acceptable in the world of paleoclimatology seems amazingly arrogant. Science moves forward whether we agree with individual articles or not,” the email said.

Scientist, Dr Timothy Ball was taking a similar line to me while I was writing this post, and it’s worth including a couple of his observations on the implications:

Professor Wegman showed how this “community of scientists” published together and peer reviewed each other’s work. I was always suspicious about why peer review was such a big deal. Now all my suspicions are confirmed. The emails reveal how they controlled the process, including manipulating some of the major journals like Science and Nature. We know the editor of the Journal of Climate, Andrew Weaver, was one of the “community”. They organized lists of reviewers when required making sure they gave the editor only favorable names. They threatened to isolate and marginalize one editor who they believed was recalcitrant.

And:

Total Control

These people controlled the global weather data used by the IPCC through the joint Hadley and CRU and produced the HadCRUT data. They controlled the IPCC, especially crucial chapters and especially preparation of the Summary for PolicyMakers (SPM). Stephen Schneider was a prime mover there from the earliest reports to the most influential in 2001. They also had a left wing conduit to the New York Times. The emails between Andy Revkin and the community are very revealing and must place his journalistic integrity in serious jeopardy. Of course the IPCC Reports and especially the SPM Reports are the basis for Kyoto and the Copenhagen Accord, but now we know they are based on completely falsified and manipulated data and science. It is no longer a suspicion. Surely this is the death knell for the CRU, the IPCC, Kyoto and Copenhagen and the Carbon Credits shell game.

CO2 never was a problem and all the machinations and deceptions exposed by these files prove that it was the greatest deception in history, but nobody is laughing. It is a very sad day for science and especially my chosen area of climate science. As I expected now it is all exposed I find there is no pleasure in “I told you so.”

THEY’RE NOT SCIENTISTS, THEY’RE GLOBAL CHANGE AGENTS

“It was good to see you again yesterday – if briefly. One particular thing you said – and we agreed – was about the IPCC reports and the broader climate negotiations were working to the globalisation agenda driven by organisations like the WTO. So my first question is do you have anything written or published, or know of anything particularly on this subject, which talks about this in more detail?”

“I am very strongly in favor of as wide and rapid a distribution as possible for endorsements. I think the only thing that counts is numbers. The media is going to say “1000 scientists signed” or “1500 signed”. No one is going to check if it is 600 with PhDs versus 2000 without. They will mention the prominent ones, but that is a different story.”

These guys were in a battle for public hearts and minds and would spare nothing to push their bigger propaganda agenda.

In fact, one UN IPCC discussion document [SOURCE 889554019.txt] contained in the emails and sent to climate scientists and other hangers on explicitly talks of the IPCC’s real agenda in selling the climate change message:

Our approach has been to develop a set of four “scenario families”.

The storylines of each of these scenario families describes a demographic, politico-economic, societal and technological future. Within each family one or more scenarios explore global energy industry and other developments and their implications for Greenhouse Gas Emissions and other pollutants. These are a starting point for climate impact modelling.

The scenarios we have built explore two main questions for the 21st century, neither of which we know the answer to:

- Can adequate governance — institutions and agreements — be put in place to manage global problems?
- Will society’s values focus more on enhancing material wealth or be more broadly balanced, incorporating environmental health and social well-being.

The way we answer these questions leads to four families of scenarios:

- Golden Economic Age (A1): a century of expanded economic prosperity with the emergence of global governance
- Sustainable Development (B1): in which global agreements and institutions, underpinned by a value shift, encourages the integration of ecological and economic goals
- Divided World (A2): difficulty in resolving global issues leads to a world of autarkic regions
- Regional Stewardship (B2): in the face of weak global governance there is a focus on managing regional/local ecological and equity

Easy to see the preferred option.

But of course, as we all know, the UN has no agenda for global governance, because left-wingers like Kevin Rudd tell us it ain’t so.

If you want a quick overview of some of the other dynamite in the pile, check this list out below (after my youtube interlude), although the central port of call should probably be Marc Morano’s Climate Depot which has a rolling round-up on this issue.

Lord Monckton: Prosecute the Climate Change Criminals

    Kurt Nimmo
    Infowars
    November 29, 2009

Lord Monckton, who challenged Al Gore on man-made climate change and was rebuffed by a gaggle of peevish Democrats, wants the climate “scientists” caught red-handed fiddling with climate stats prosecuted.

“They are not merely bad scientists — they are crooks. And crooks who have perpetrated their crimes at the expense of British and U.S. taxpayers,” writes Monckton. “With Professor Fred Singer, who founded the U.S. Satellite Weather Service, I have reported them to the UK’s Information Commissioner, with a request that he investigate their offenses and, if thought fit, prosecute.”

Alex Jones on the CRU emails and the globalist plan to use the climate change hoax to impose one-world government.

Monckton does not hold out much hope for that, however. “But I won’t be holding my breath: In the police state that Britain has now sadly become, with supine news media largely owned and controlled by the government, the establishment tends to look after its own.”

The corporate media is doing its best to downplay the story. “Revelation of a series of embarrassing e-mails by climate scientists provides fodder for critics, but experts believe the issue will not hurt the U.S. climate bill’s chance for passage or efforts to forge a global climate change deal,” reports Reuters. Anthony Leiserowitz, the director of the Yale Project on Climate Change, said the release of the emails will be remembered mostly as “embarrassment” to the researchers. “But there’s no smoking gun in the e-mails from what I’ve seen.”

No smoking gun? The so-called researchers colluded to modify climate data in favor of their man-made climate change fairy tale.

“The tiny, close-knit clique of climate scientists who invented and now drive the ‘global warming’ fraud — for fraud is what we now know it to be — tampered with temperature data so assiduously that, on the recent admission of one of them, land temperatures since 1980 have risen twice as fast as ocean temperatures,” writes Monckton in a bog entry today. “One of the thousands of emails recently circulated by a whistleblower at the University of East Anglia, where one of the world’s four global-temperature datasets is compiled, reveals that data were altered so as to prevent a recent decline in temperature from showing in the record. In fact, there has been no statistically significant ‘global warming’ for 15 years — and there has been rapid and significant cooling for nine years.”

Russia Today reports on the CRU emails.

Instead of demanding researchers answer questions about inventing and fiddling with data, the University of East Anglia has asked the cops to investigate the hackers who revealed the bogus work of “our globally-respected Climatic Research Unit” that supposedly produces “research [that] is, and has always been, fully peer-reviewed by the relevant journals, and is one strand of research underpinning the strong consensus that human activity is affecting the world’s climate in ways that are potentially dangerous.”

In other words, fake data used to impose a one-world government and global serfdom is “fully peer-reviewed.”

“In addition to supporting the police in their enquiries, we will ourselves be conducting a review, with external support, into the circumstances surrounding the theft and publication of this information and any issues emerging from it,” states a CRU update posted earlier today.

“It’s definitely a crime to do that in the U.K., and we have reported it to the police,” said Simon Dunford, a spokesman at East Anglia, which is conducting an internal probe.

The University of East Anglia should be consulting lawyers. Antonio Regalado, writing for Science Magazine, notes that “university researchers may also find themselves in legal jeopardy if they deleted emails requested under the U.K.’s Freedom of Information (FOIA) legislation, a crime under U.K. law.”

Professor Phil Jones, for instance, apparently engaged in a criminal conspiracy to destroy evidence formally petitioned under a Freedom of Information request. “Can you delete any emails you may have had with Keith re AR4? Keith will do likewise,” Jones emailed Michael E. Mann, a climatologist and statistician at Pennsylvania State University, on May 29, 2008.

As noted above, deleting emails subject to a FOI request is a criminal offense in the United Kingdom, punishable with a fine.

The “arrogant fraudsters,” Monckton continues, “have refused, for years and years and years, to reveal their data and their computer program listings. Now we know why: As a revealing 15,000-line document from the computer division at the Climate Research Unit shows, the programs and data are a hopeless, tangled mess. In effect, the global temperature trends have simply been made up.”

Meanwhile, over at the Huffington Post, Katherine Goldstein and Craig Kanalley dismiss the CRU scandal out of hand. It provides ammo for the right-wing nuts who are — according to the ADL and the Department of Homeland Security — a threat to the nation.

“Despite the lack of evidence of some sort of conspiracy in the scientific community, this criminal activity has created fodder for right-wing groups and websites to promote their own agenda that global warming is not real. This comes at a time when international attention is more and more focused on the climate crisis in advance of the UN climate talks in Copenhagen in December,” they write.

Naturally, the climate change “progressives” — and the globalist foundations that support and nurture them — are worried about the CRU scandal because the United Nations conference on climate change is right around the corner. In December, the 15th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change will meet in Copenhagen to work on a successor treaty to the Kyoto Protocol.

As Lord Monckton explained in October, a realized Copenhagen treaty will establish a “one world Marxist government.”

On October 14, Lord Christopher Monckton gave a presentation in St. Paul, MN on the subject of climate change.

“The second purpose is the transfer of wealth from the countries of the West to third world countries, in satisfaction of what is called, coyly, ‘climate debt’ – because we’ve been burning CO2 and they haven’t. We’ve been screwing up the climate and they haven’t. And the third purpose of this new entity, this government, is enforcement,” Monckton warned. “They are about to impose a communist world government on the world. You have a president who has very strong sympathies with that point of view. He’s going to sign it. He’ll sign anything. He’s a Nobel Peace Prize [winner]; of course he’ll sign it.”

Replace “Marxist” with “bankster” and you get a better idea of what our rulers have up their sleeves. Moreover, wealth is never transferred to the third world. It is transferred to the global elite. Feel-good palliatives about feeding the poor are merely a parlor trick to steal your money and reduce you to indentured servitude.

“Climate Gate” Development: CEI Files Notice of Intent to Sue NASA

    http://spectator.org/blog/2009/11/24/climate-gate-development-cei-f

    By Chris Horner on 11.24.09 @ 9:46AM

Today, on behalf of the Competitive Enterprise Institute, I filed three Notices of Intent to File Suit against NASA and its Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS), for those bodies’ refusal – for nearly three years – to provide documents requested under the Freedom of Information Act.

The information sought is directly relevant to the exploding “ClimateGate” scandal revealing document destruction, coordinated efforts in the U.S. and UK to avoid complying with both countries’ freedom of information laws, and apparent and widespread intent to defraud at the highest levels of international climate science bodies. Numerous informed commenters had alleged such behavior for years, all of which appears to be affirmed by leaked emails, computer codes and other data from the Climatic Research Unit of the UK’s East Anglia University.

All of that material and that sought for years by CEI go to the heart of the scientific claims and campaign underpinning the Kyoto Protocol, its planned successor treaty, “cap-and-trade” legislation and the EPA’s threatened regulatory campaign to impose similar measures through the back door.

CEI sought the following documents, among others, NASA’s failure to provide which within thirty days will prompt CEI to file suit in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia:

    - internal discussions about NASA’s quiet correction of its false historical U.S. temperature records after two Canadian researchers discovered a key statistical error, specifically discussion about whether and why to correct certain records, how to do so, the impact or wisdom or potential (or real) fallout therefrom or reaction to doing so (requested August 2007);

    - internal discussions relating to the emails sent to James Hansen and/or Reto A. Ruedy from Canadian statistician Steve McIntyre calling their attention to the errors in NASA/GISS online temperature data (August 2007);

    - those relating to the content, importance or propriety of workday-hour posts or entries by GISS/NASA employee Gavin A. Schmidt on the weblog or “blog” RealClimate, which is owned by the advocacy Environmental Media Services and was started as an effort to defend the debunked “Hockey Stick” that is so central to the CRU files. RealClimate.org is implicated in the leaked files, expressly offered as a tool to be used “in any way you think would be helpful” to a certain advocacy campaign, including an assertion of Schmidt’s active involvement in, e.g., delaying and/or screening out unhelpful input by “skeptics” attempting to comment on claims made on the website.

This and the related political activism engaged in are inappropriate behavior for a taxpayer-funded employee, particularly on taxpayer time. These documents were requested in January 2007 and NASA/GISS have refused to date to comply with their legal obligation to produce responsive documents.

Inhofe Begins Hadley Center “Climategate” Investigation

    Warns Participants to Retain Documents

Washington, D.C.-Sen. James M. Inhofe (R-Okla.), Ranking Member of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, today sent letters to several scientists, some of whom allegedly manipulated data to prove the scientific “consensus” of global warming, as well as to the inspectors general of several federal agencies, notifying them to retain documents related to the release of emails from the Hadley Center’s Climate Research Unit.

“The stakes in this controversy are significant, as it appears that the basis of federal programs, pending EPA rulemakings, and cap-and-trade legislation was contrived and fabricated,” Sen. Inhofe said. “Moreover, it appears that, in an attempt to conceal the manipulation of climate data, information disclosure laws may have been violated.

“I certainly don’t condone the manner in which these emails were released; however, now that they are in the public domain, lawmakers have an obligation to determine the extent to which the so-called ‘consensus’ of global warming, formed with billions of taxpayer dollars, was contrived in the biased minds of the world’s leading climate scientists.”

The letters are the first step in the investigation of the Hadley Center climate scandal. Last week, emails released by a computer hacker revealed that several leading climate scientists allegedly manipulated climate data and research used by the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). These scientists also appear to have refused outside access to their raw data, obstructed freedom of information requests, and plotted ways to prevent the publication of papers in peer-reviewed journals by scientists who question global warming alarmism.

Now, as for me I advise the Ayn Rand, “Atlas Shrugged” countermeasure to this problem. I say let these people have their way, there’s no way that I see to stop them anyway, their mind is made up, no more discussion required. Let them rule the world. What are they going to do, point a gun at you and say, “produce wealth.”

You’re looking at a group of people that have no practical concept of wealth or the generation of wealth. All these people know is thievery and pillage. When the perpetual, heridetary victims of this thievery stop producing or are prevented from producing the wealth that is stolen from them then what are the thieves going to do?

The thieves are outnumbered thousands to one. They don’t have enough guns to prevent the bloodbath that will happen about five minutes after the lights go out.

    That’s my take.

    Why ‘climategate’ won’t stop greens
    By LORRIE GOLDSTEIN

    http://www.ottawasun.com/comment/columnists/lorrie_goldstein/2009/11/26/11929441-sun.html

    Last Updated: 26th November 2009, 3:51am

If you’re wondering how the robot-like march of the world’s politicians towards Copenhagen can possibly continue in the face of the scientific scandal dubbed “climategate,” it’s because Big Government, Big Business and Big Green don’t give a s*** about “the science.”

    They never have.

What “climategate” suggests is many of the world’s leading climate scientists didn’t either. Apparently they stifled their own doubts about recent global cooling not explained by their computer models, manipulated data, plotted ways to avoid releasing it under freedom of information laws and attacked fellow scientists and scientific journals for publishing even peer-reviewed literature of which they did not approve.

Now they and their media shills — who sneered that all who questioned their phony “consensus” were despicable “deniers,” the moral equivalent of those who deny the Holocaust — are the ones in denial about the enormity of the scandal enveloping them.

So they desperately try to portray it as the routine “messy” business of science, lamely insisting, “nothing to see here folks, move along.”

Before the Internet — which has given ordinary people a way to fight back against the received wisdom of so-called “wise elites” — they might have gotten away with it.

But not now, as knowledgeable climate bloggers are advancing the story and forcing the co-opted mainstream media to cover a scandal most would rather ignore.

The problem, however, is those who hijacked science to predict a looming Armageddon unless we do exactly as they say, have already done their damage.

The moment they convinced politicians the way to avert the End of Days was to put a price on emitting carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, the unholy alliance of Big Government, Big Business and Big Green was forged.

Big Government wants more of your taxes. Big Business wants more of your income. Big Green wants you and your children to bow down to its agenda of enforced austerity.

What about saving the planet, you ask? This was never about saving the planet. This is about money and power. Your money. Their power.

If it was about saving the planet, “cap-and-trade” (a.k.a. cap-and-tax) — how Big Government, Big Business and Big Green ludicrously pretend we will “fight” global warming and “save the planet” — would have been consigned to the dust bin of history because it doesn’t work. We know it doesn’t work because Europe’s five-year-old cap-and-trade market — the Emissions Trading Scheme — has done nothing to make the world cooler.

All it’s done is make hedge fund managers, speculators and Big Energy giddy with windfall profits, while making everyone else poorer by driving up the cost of energy, and thus of most goods and services, which need energy to be lighted, heated, cooled, grown, constructed, manufactured, produced and transported.

Readers often ask how they can fight back. First, forget about asking when the warmists will see reason. They won’t.

Instead, send a message to Prime Minister Stephen Harper by e-mail (pm@pm.gc.ca), fax (1-613-941-6900) or call toll-free (1-866-599-4999) and ask to be put through to the Office of the Prime Minister.

Do the same for Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff by e-mail, (ignatm@parl.gc.ca). fax, (1-613-947-0310), or call-toll free (1-866-599-4999) and ask to be put through to the Liberal Leader’s Office.

From the Sydney Morning Herald in Australia @ http://www.smh.com.au/opinion/politics/climate-doomsayers-caught-out-20091126-jsa7.html

The political high drama of the Coalition’s internal battle is a microcosm of how the climate change issue is playing out in the real world.

It was no surprise Kevin Andrews lost yesterday’s vote to call a leadership spill for the Liberal Party. But he made a fair fist of it, getting 42 per cent of the vote, despite being a surprise fringe candidate never previously considered for leadership.

Andrews also made a fair fist of explaining the rationale behind his run, stating the obvious truth that Liberals fare best electorally when combining economic liberalism with social conservatism. The majority opinion of the party room, as opposed to Malcolm Turnbull’s locked-in shadow cabinet, was that the Senate should ”reject or postpone” the Government’s carbon pollution reduction legislation and send it to a Senate committee to evaluate the impact of the most significant piece of economic re-engineering in Australia’s history.

It would have provided some transparency for voters, and Turnbull and the Coalition breathing room, and denied Prime Minister Kevin Rudd his prize for the Copenhagen climate summit next month.

To Andrews, party-room opposition to the scheme was simply ”reflecting a clear view of Liberal Party members, supporters and members of the public” about the consequences of this heavy new tax. Politicians should ”respect . . . the wishes of the Australian people”. What a refreshing thought.

The political high drama of the Coalition’s internal battle is a microcosm of how the climate change issue is playing out in the real world. After a long period in which a lazy public contented itself with trusting politicians and the climate “experts”, it has woken to find all is not as it seemed.

Armageddon is not nigh. The planet has been cooling for almost a decade and the fabled climate computer models never predicted that.

And now damning emails leaked from the climatic research unit at the University of East Anglia have implicated some famous climate scientists in a conspiracy to manipulate data and suppress evidence to exaggerate the case man-made ”runaway” global warming is threatening the planet. We see clearly the rotten heart of the propaganda machine that has driven the world to the brink of insanity on the eve of the Copenhagen climate summit.

More than 1000 emails and 3000 documents, covering correspondence between climate scientists for more than a decade, was posted on a Russian website with a link to the climate sceptic blog Air Vent on November 17, by someone using the name FOIA (presumably after the Freedom of Information Act). FOIA wrote: ”We feel that climate science is, in the current situation, too important to be kept under wraps. We hereby release a random selection of correspondence, code, and documents. Hopefully it will give some insight into the science and the people behind it.”

We knew but never before had seen such proof of bad faith, overwhelming in its small detail, its shameless dishonesty, its meanness, its totalitarian tactics, pouncing on every deviation from The Word, as handed down by the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

The head of the agenda-setting Climate Research Unit, Phil Jones, in an email to Ray Bradley, Michael Mann, and Malcolm Hughes, the American scientists who created the now discredited ”hockey stick” graphs, which claim to show rapidly escalating temperatures is quoted thus: ”I’ve just completed Mike’s Nature trick of adding in the real temps to each series for the last 20 years (i.e. from 1981 onwards) and from 1961 for Keith’s to hide the decline.”

Mann, in another email dated Oct 27, 2009, writes: ”As we all know, this isn’t about truth at all, it’s about plausibly deniable accusations.”

Phil Jones writes in another email about his alarm over new freedom of information laws, as he has been trying to block FOI requests for monthly global surface temperature data from retired Canadian statistician Steve McIntyre, the editor of the sceptic blog Climate Audit. ”The two MMs have been after the CRU station data for years. If they ever hear there is a Freedom of Information Act now in the UK, I think I’ll delete the file rather than send to anyone . . .”

The fact it was a retired statistician and not a news organisation pounding the FOI requests that precipitated this flood of information is a sad reflection on the state of journalism.

There is also a revolting email from Jones to Mann, describing the premature death from a heart attack of Tasmanian author and climate sceptic John L. Daly as ”cheering news!”

Mann, in another email, maps out a plan to ruin a journal, Climate Research, which has published sceptic papers. ”So what do we do about this? I think we have to stop considering Climate Research as a legitimate peer-reviewed journal. Perhaps we should encourage our colleagues in the climate research community to no longer submit to, or cite papers in, this journal.”

Another email to Mann, from Kevin Trenberth, an IPCC lead author on October 12, titled ”BBC U-turn on climate”, states: ”The fact is that we can’t account for the lack of warming at the moment and it is a travesty that we can’t . . . Our observing system is inadequate.”

The good thing is people can now see the tactics of the alarmists and their army of bovver boys. You can read the emails online and then you can read the sly attempts to explain away the misdeeds. Despite their feigned reasonableness and world-weary calm over the email scandal, climate alarmists are in a mad fumbling panic. They are exposed as dangerous megalomaniacs, foolish, but with enormous power.

Their power came from the complicity of the media and because it suited a certain type of politician to build a new bureaucracy and pose as an environmental saviour, never having to face up to the consequences of being wrong.

Here is a comment I posted at http://www.maxkeiser.com. I guess my headline above overstated as I do admit that climate change exists but I do not believe that humanity contributes to it any significant way.

Stacey you said: “links to ‘evidence’ that climate change does not exist”

I do not have any. I agree that climate change exists but I do not agree that anthropogenic climate change is an issue, or if it is, it is negligible.

I believe that climate change is a naturally occurring event on a cyclical scale, driven by the sun.

But it does not matter what any of us ‘believe’. The real issue is faked data, omitted data, changing modeling software to get the desired result. This is Climategate.

According to these lead researchers own data, which they hid, shows that for at least the last 10 years world temperatures have been declining. Further there is no correlation between rising world temperatures and CO2. In fact as CO2 has continued to rise temperatures have begun to drop. This was hidden too as it broke the pattern of their ‘belief’. This is the scandal.

The leaked emails and computer code prove that these guys misrepresented their data.

Now using the pseudo-science, step in Al Gore as a front man for the Banksters and Fraudsters…yes the same ones who hijacked our economy have also hijacked the environmental movement.

They did this to push forward an agenda of cap-and-trade that will tax us for trillions of dollars. Al Gore and his partner David Blood, of Goldman Sachs fame, are set to be a carbon-swap middle men/brokers. They will make billions.

Then you have CEO’s of big oil jumping on board…why would they do this? Because with cap-and-trade they can increase pollution and declare themselves green at the same time.

Take for example Marvin Odum, President of Shell Oil, who will invest millions in wind and solar farms. The low carbon footprint will yield these ventures an excess of carbon credits which Shell can use to apply against their oil production declaring them a green company while increasing emissions. He has advertised that they need to boost oil production by 50% to meet global demand. Without cap-and-trade he can’t have his cake and eat it too.

Also if they do not get enough credits from their own initiatives they will be able to buy them from another company, with Al Gore making a commission as middleman.

    NOW THE KICKER:

Finally the Marvin Odum’s of the world, the Oligarchs, Al Gore, David Blood, Goldman Sachs, the whole financial sector are calling for Carbon Derivatives to spawn a whole new industry. They will be able to speculate on Carbon Futures and it will become a commodity just like oil. There is billions, if not trillions at stake.

This is just one more chapter in the Casino Gulag Economy and I am surprised you and Max never caught this one. It all ties together.

Lynn may I suggest you look at what the majority of leading scientists in the USA have to say about Anthropogenic Global Warming:

    http://www.petitionproject.org/index.php

Complete with names and a summary of their qualifications. Remember that your pro AGW crowd boasts over 3,000 scientists. The anti AGW scientists are in excess of 31,000. The science is in. AGW is a hoax.

  18. Newton says:

I meant AGW is a hoax not AGO

admin’s note: I fixed your typo.

Yet more climate experts talking about the Anthropogenic Global Warming Hoax.

  21. Ed A. Tor says:

To anyone (yes Lynn that is you too) who denied that these leaked emails and data proved a massive fraud…well you can deny no more. Russian Climate Scientists confirmed today that the data was doctored to further the global warming agenda.

Yet another massive blow to this criminal cabal of elitists, scientists, and their zombie minions.
